iOS 17: What’s the Latest Version?
After debuting on September 18, Apple’s iOS 17 included three zero-day security updates that “may have been actively exploited,” prompting the company to deliver iOS 17.0.1 two days later.
Both small point releases for bugfixes and security upgrades and major releases with new features are planned for the coming months. Take a sneak peek at some of the upcoming enhancements to iOS 17 that are already in the works.

Even though iOS 17 Release Candidate is still in beta, Apple is expected to begin developing iOS 17.1 very soon to fix any issues users encounter with the current beta.

iOS 17: Bugs and Problems
Security: On September 21, Apple released an upgrade to iOS 17 that patched a number of security issues.
Slowdowns, battery life: Some iOS update users have reported issues with their iPhones‘ performance, battery life, and/or temperature after installing the software. As the iPhone spends a few days performing maintenance required by the update, such as re-indexing, the battery may drain faster and the device may run hotter than usual after an iOS upgrade. If your iPhone is acting up, you might try restarting it.
Apple has previously Tweeted about this very issue:
Thanks for reaching out! We'll be happy to help. It's normal for your apps and features to need to adjust up to 48 hours after an update.
Let's have you reach out to us in a DM if this is still an issue after that time so we can help you look into this further.

Wi-Fi: After installing the newest version of iOS, some users also report that their iPhone has trouble maintaining a stable Wi-Fi connection. It’s best to restart the iPhone if this happens again. Alternatively, you can read about fixing iPhone Wi-Fi dropouts.
Standby won’t show correct time zone: We ran into this problem (the clock was stuck in Cupertino). This is how we fixed it:
- Holding down the Standby mode clock for an extended period of time.
- To add more, click the plus sign in the upper left.
- Include the time-corrected clock widget.
New iOS 17.0.1 was launched on September 22. Security and bug fixes were made.
