Here Are The Top 10 Redmi 4 Hacks That You Are Probably Still Unaware Of
I have enlisted a total of 10 amazing Redmi 4 hacks which will help you extract a better out of your device.
Xiaomi holds 25% of the total Smartphone shipment market share in India and is ahead of Samsung with 23% of the total market share according to TechCrunch published on Jan 25, 2018. So to all the majority smartphone users (i.e., Xiaomi ) here are some cool Redmi 4 hacks for your Xiaomi Redmi 4 Smartphone which you can use to control your device more easily and extract a better out of it.
I have personally tested these hacks on my “Redmi 4” which runs on the latest MI update i.e., MIUI 126.96.36.199 and they all worked fine. Some of these tricks may not work for your Redmi version if you have not updated your device to the latest version available.
So without wasting any further time let’s get started…
Swipe up your main screen on your Redmi 4 (you can do this from any corner of the main screen) to open the Google Search directly without opening the app. To do so you must have Google App Installed on your phone.
Apps Under Folder
Placing certain apps to a specific folder makes them look organized and helps you find them easily without struggling swiping to search for them. Simply overlap the apps to one another on your Remdi4 and insert them in a folder. Open the folder and tap the folder text to rename it as per your choice.
Swipe Between Two Windows
Click the menu button twice and switch between the two latest windows opened in the background. This feature will be very helpful when you will be using two apps (System or Installed) simultaneously on your Redmi 4 device.
You can take “Screenshots” on your Redmi 4 device in several ways:
4a. Press the Volume Down and Power button simultaneously for a second or two.
4b. Press the Volume Up and Power button simultaneously for a second or two.
4c. Swipe your three fingers down (all three must be completely touching the screen) to capture the screen.
4d. Lastly, you can use the traditional way by hitting the screenshot icon placed in the drop-down menu on your Redmi 4 device.
Swipe down the message box until you don’t get a pop up asking you to enable the private messaging feature. Set up a screen lock and add numbers/contact to the private messaging window to chat privately with your closed and loved ones secretly.
DropDown Menu Icon Settings
Don’t wanna visit settings all the time to set basic configurations? Hold on the icons for a second or two present in the drop-down menu to open the respective settings.
Long press the Hotspot icon to open its settings…
You can hold on the menu button for a second or two in the locked screen to open up the Torch instantly on your Redmi 4. You can also hold and swipe the “Ball icon” to the left and click on the “Torch icon”.
Internet Data Usage
Most of us are prepaid users and have limited internet data available. Using mobile data without a close check on the data usage stats can make us lose our main account balance. You can set a notification on the drop-down menu and can keep a continuous check on how much data you have used so far on a particular day.
Simply go to settings and select sim card and mobile networks. Then select “Data Plan“ and finally enable show data usage notifications.
You can also check the monthly data usage by long pressing the “Data usage notification bar“.
Change The Number Of Allowed Users Over Your Wi-Fi Hotspot
Despite configuring Wi-Fi Hotspot settings efficiently and setting up a strong password, sometimes malicious users crack your Wi-Fi Hotspot’s password. To stop them do so, you can set the number of audiences who can connect to your Wi-Fi Hotspot on your Redmi 4 at a particular instant of time.
For that go to “Settings“, select the option “Portable Hotspot” and then under MANAGE DEVICES select “Connected Devices“. Under “Limit of connected devices” set the number of users you want to share your hotspot with. You can either select a minimum of ‘1‘ or ‘Maximum‘ for no limit.
Incoming Call Configurations
Now this one is my favorite. Being buzzed up from unknown numbers or getting calls when you rest your eyes is a common thing and sometimes becomes extremely irritating.
To tackle such problem goto calls log by selecting the phone icon on your screen and long press the menu button. The call settings dialog box opens. Under that goto “Incoming call settings” where you will get the following options:
10a. Flip to silence ringer
Turn this feature ON to silence the ringer when you receive a call by placing your phone upside down with screen facing downward.
10b. Quiet ringer when lifted
Enable this feature to reduce the ringer volume as soon as you lift up your phone from resting position when an incoming call arrives.
10c. Increase ringtone volume
Enabling this feature will set the ringtone volume to gradually grow up to the level you set. This feature is very helpful when you don’t want your phone to burst up with noise when you are sleeping or in an important meeting.
10d. Flash when ringing
As soon as you receive a call, your flashlight will start blinking in addition to the phone ringtone you have set.
10e. Proximity sensor
This feature is set to default(enabled) in your Redmi 4 device. If not, turn this feature ON to turn off your screen automatically when you hold your device close to your ear during a call.
10f. Mute first ring
Turning this feature ON will let you mute the first ring when you receive a call from an unknown number until you get a call from the same number again.
